Ray tracing is being pushed as a PlayStation 5 feature, but it will also be present in the PS4 Pro version of Crysis Remastered. To be clear, while the concept is similar, this is software-based ray tracing made possible by the Crytek Engine – it’s different to the hardware-based ray tracing that’s a big part of Sony’s next-gen system.
Nevertheless, you can see the tech in action courtesy of the trailer embedded above. You’ll notice how it adds additional reflections to the ocean, as well as puddles on the ground. The title will also feature support for HDR televisions, so should be quite the looker when it launches 18th September – as it should, given the series’ history as a graphics benchmark.

Looks good but would wait for gameplay footage to decide to buy.
I wonder if there is a cross-buy option for this game?
Will it support the level they cut from the PS3 version?
Shame about Warhead not being included, but perhaps that'll get done next.
@oldschool1987 I imagine it will. It was removed from 360, PS3 and Switch because they literally couldn't run it. Then again the Switch version is worse than the original PC version in almost every way, but I'm assuming the console versions of the remastered versions will at least have it included.
@I_Like_It It’s a game changer, even much more than HDR. I think it’s worth hyping.
Wish they made Crysis 4 instead
Wasn't this largely judged to be one of the most over-rated games ever? All about the graphics and pretty run-of-the-mill gameplay? One of the original victims of the "graphics and frame rates above all else" trend?
I never played it, but that's what I recall when I hear the name.
Pretty excited for this👏🏼
Crysis is like Skyrim I complain when I see a version of it, but I still buy it.
